He was recording with Santana at the Village Recorder in San Francisco and Eric and some of the Dominos went down to check him out. Before long the Santana band and Eric and company were jamming away. “What you’ll hear here is the result of that informal meeting. Eric was certainly impressed and invited young Neal to play with him and the Dominos at their Berkeley shows. The shows were so good that Eric asked him to join the band.
